- 2 1/2 lbs russet potatoes rinsed, peeled, and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cups unsalted butter softened
- 3/4 cup milk warmed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder optional
